F&M Home Opener - First Tailgate
Saturday September 6th

Greetings to all you F&M Football Parents,

Hope everyone has been enjoying these warm summer days. We, however, are so very excited for our upcoming football season!
We first would like to welcome our 25 newest Diplomats. We are so happy you are here and about to be a member of our F&M Diplomat family. It is a great experience and hopefully you will enjoy every minute of it. We are preparing to kick off the 2014 Football season with the home opener vs. Lebanon Valley on September 6 at 1pm. For this first home game only,we will be combining everyone's efforts and our tailgate will not only be for all of the players and the coaches but for all of the families as well. It is a fun and enjoyable way for everyone to kick off our season together.
We ask that everyone bring their usual tailgating chairs, table, coolers and tents. We will set up everything into connecting, covered buffet lines. We are assigning everyone a category based on your last name and your son's class level. Please confirm if you will be attending the tailgate and how many people will attend from your family. Also please indicate what you can bring to help make this a successful first home tailgate for all. Please reply all via email so that we can cover all our bases and avoid unneeded duplicates. Our goal is to have enough food for pre-game, half-time and after the game. Last year's crowd was over 300 people!
You will be providing the main course meals and/or sides that go with the meals. Some of the most popular meals have been pulled pork sliders, meatballs, chicken, sausage and peppers, penne vodka and Mac and cheese. Salads are always a great idea! When preparing meals, plan for double the amount.
You will be providing all the pre-game and half time food. Some examples would be wings, sandwich/wrap platters, veggie platters or chips and dip. Bagels might be a good idea for pre-game too. again plan for double the amount.
For those freshman whose last name starts with A - G...you will be bringing one case of water along with two cases of Gatorade. For those freshman whose last name starts with H - Z...you will be bringing dessert. Cookies, brownies and fruit platters are some suggestions.

Of course, if you have a specialty you would like to make, we would love that too! If you can, please bring any serving utensils, condiments and/or warming racks/sternos that may be required to warm or accompany your dish. If your are grilling anything, please bring your own BBQ grill. When you arrive, we are asking that everyone pitch in and help set up.
Please email your reply as soon as possible to Maureen Gallagher at irishmo330@optonline.net. We will be setting up at 10:15am on and will just keep adding our tables and tents as everyone arrives. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact Maureen Gallagher, Tracy Martinez or Kim Seitz. We will keep you updated on the planning of this fun and special event.
Thank you so much for your help. We cannot do it without all of you. We are looking forward to meeting all of you. Here's to a winning season!
